Individual 1:1 CBT Therapy for Children and Young People
Bright Path Therapy offers individual one-to-one CBT therapy sessions for children and young people in Rugby, across Warwickshire and within the wider UK virtually. These sessions provide a calm, supportive space where children can explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
I specialise in supporting neurodivergent children and young people, while also working with neurotypical children who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional difficulties or low confidence.
What 1:1 CBT Sessions Involve
A Flexible, Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach
Individual CBT sessions are tailored to each child’s needs and may include:
-
Understanding emotions and emotional responses
-
Exploring worries, fears or anxious thoughts
-
Developing coping strategies for overwhelm
-
Building confidence and emotional resilience
-
Supporting challenges linked to school or transitions
Sessions are structured yet flexible, allowing therapy to adapt to the child rather than following a rigid model.
CBT is adapted thoughtfully to support different communication styles, sensory needs and processing speeds.
Therapy may include:
-
Visual supports
-
Practical tools
-
Creative activities
-
Structured routines
This is all dependent on what helps the child feel most comfortable and engaged.
The focus is always on emotional safety, trust and collaboration.
