Supporting Schools, Children and Young People
Bright Path Therapy offers CBT-informed emotional wellbeing support for children and young people in school settings across Rugby, Coventry, Warwickshire, and the wider UK. I work collaboratively with schools to provide flexible, neurodiversity-affirming support that complements existing pastoral and SEN provision.
Support is tailored to the needs of each setting and delivered in a way that prioritises emotional safety, inclusion and ethical practice.
How I Work With Schools
School-Based Interventions
I aim to make working with external therapy support clear, straightforward and collaborative.
This includes:
-
Clear communication and expectations
-
A neurodiversity-affirming approach
-
Sensitivity to school systems and pressures
-
Ethical, child-centred decision-making
Support can be delivered short-term or as part of a planned programme, depending on need.
Support offered to schools may include:
-
Individual CBT-informed sessions
-
Small group CBT programmes
-
Emotional regulation and anxiety support
-
Support around school-related stress or transitions
-
Specialised tailoring training and consultations with school staff
Interventions are adapted to suit the child’s developmental level, emotional needs and neurodivergent profile where relevant.
Group Programmes in Schools
Group CBT programmes are offered where there is sufficient uptake for a shared presenting concern. Groups are carefully structured to:
-
Feel safe and predictable
-
Be developmentally appropriate
-
Support emotional regulation and skill-building
Where there is not enough uptake to run a group, schools may be offered alternative options, including individual support and placement on a group waiting list for future programmes.
Neurodiversity Affirming Practice
Bright Path Therapy works from a neurodiversity-affirming framework. This means:
-
Valuing different ways of thinking and learning
-
Avoiding behaviour-focused or compliance-based approaches
-
Adapting CBT to suit communication style, sensory needs and processing pace
This approach supports inclusion and aligns with many schools’ SEND and wellbeing priorities.
Safeguarding and Professional Standards
Safeguarding is central to all work with schools. I work in line with:
-
School safeguarding policies
-
Statutory safeguarding guidance
-
Professional and ethical standards
Any safeguarding concerns are managed promptly and appropriately, with clear communication between relevant parties.
